Office of Student Financial Aid: Welcome
The Office of Student Financial Aid assists students whose personal and family resources are not adequate to cover the costs involved in attending UW-Madison by:
- Processing financial aid forms to determine eligibility for grants, loans, and work-study employment
- Advising students regarding financial aid and money management
- Providing information on part-time employment, both on- and off-campus
- Offering assistance in obtaining information about scholarships
- Office hours are 8 am until 4 pm (Central Time) Monday through Friday.
There is a new website that makes it easy to find UW-Madison Scholarships. Scholarships@UW-Madison is designed to help prospective, new and continuing students and their parents find undergraduate scholarship details within one site. Instead of navigating individual schools and colleges, students can turn to this comprehensive resource to find UW scholarships for which they are eligible.
Starting in September, 2009 scholarships.wisc.edu is your one-stop shop for scholarships.
- The UW Foundation is sponsoring a fund-raising campaign called “Great People, Great Place”.
- The purpose of the campaign is to raise need-based financial aid funds for economically disadvantaged UW-Madison students who without it might not be able to attend. Need-based financial aid makes it possible for students to pursue their dreams at the university and eventually, to achieve their academic goals.
- If you would like to make a donation to the “Great People, Great Place” campaign and help change a student’s life, please click on this link: http://www.greatpeoplegreatplace.org/
- Don't pay a fee for financial aid or scholarship information!
- In one current scam students and parents receive a letter that appears to be from an official financial aid organization. This letter may include personal information about the student and may even name the UW-Madison, but it is from a business the UW-Madison does not endorse.
- For more information about financial aid and scholarship scams see the following from the the Federal Trade Commission.
